The R&D Team is split with an internal firewall, where one half supports Inca’s Federal work and the other half supports Inca’s Commercial business.

Job Description

Work on the Research and Development (R&D) Team to help design and develop new data products and tools.

  • Report to the head of R&D for prioritization, product design, and subject matter training.

The R&D Team consumes internal and external sources of data, processes it, stores it, analyzes it, and helps productize it (as APIs, dashboards, and alerts)

  • In doing so, R&D interacts with Inca’s various other teams, and touches products, investigations, research, and data which are directly used by Inca’s clients.

  • R&D is a small and highly collaborative team of engineers and scientists. Suggest solutions, propose changes, and offer your unique perspective.

R&D spans Inca’s Federal and Commercial sides of work with an internal firewall. This position is for the U.S. Federal side.

  • Candidate must be an American citizen.

  • Security clearance will be required for this position.

  • Work on some of our highly interesting projects for clients across Defence, Intelligence, Regulation, Enforcement, Finance, Crypto, Academia, and more.

Credentials/Skills꞉

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience with source control tool sets (Git).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes (GitHub Actions, AWSCode).

  • Understanding of containerized environments (kubernetes/docker).

  • Developing Batch ETL/ELT data pipelines.

  • Experience deploying and working with relational databases, and file storage.

  • Performing data acquisition from source databases and APIs.

Comfortable with these programing/querying Languages.

  • Required꞉ Python, SQL.

  • Nice to have꞉ GraphQl, GoLang, Java, Solidity, Vyper, Bitcoin Script, CIPHER, SPL (Splunk’s Search Processing Language).

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience interacting with data storage solutions꞉ Amazon S3, RDS, Postgresql, MongoDB, Neo4j.

  • Experience with Kafka and Airflow.

  • Building, testing, and training models.

  • Knowledge of cloud resource provisioning, configuration, and automation.

  • Familiarity with NLP techniques & LLMs.

  • Familiarity with blockchains & smart contracts.

  • Familiarity with financial and banking.

Nice to have꞉

  • Prior experience in financial services particularly with trading venues.

  • Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and those within the US or Canada (SEC, CFTC, FINCEN, CSA, CSC, etc.).
