Equity Analyst - SDR

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Equity Analyst/Business Developer to join our team as a Sales Development Representative (SDR). This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in Venture Capital, Finance, or related fields, particularly in startups, and who is eager to excel in a fast-paced environment. You will be pivotal in building and expanding Aption’s client base by identifying and engaging founders, executives, and early employees in the startup ecosystem.
This role requires a smart, analytical, and hungry individual with a passion for understanding venture capital markets and the unique financial needs of startup professionals. The ideal candidate thrives in an outbound-focused, process-driven role and is eager to make a significant impact.
What you are expected to deliverResponsibilities
- Manage our CRM and pipeline-top-of-the-funnel activities
- Conduct outbound prospecting through LinkedIn, emails, social media, and networking campaigns to identify and engage prospective founders and early employees interested in diversifying their equity holdings
- Qualify potential clients through thoughtful, consultative discussions to understand their needs and introduce Aption’s offerings
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent outreach and follow-up to build strong relationships with prospects
- Collaborate closely with the founders and future sales team to refine outreach strategies, messaging, and lead qualification criteria, including marketing activities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of startup trends, private equity markets, and competitors to inform outreach and advise prospects effectively
- Build marketing and growth campaigns as well as brand management initiatives for Aption to develop a targeted pipeline
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for outbound activity, qualified leads, and conversions
What we expect you to bringRequirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience is an advantage
- 1-2 years of experience in Venture Capital, Finance, Banking, or Private Wealth Management, preferably in an SDR, analyst, or secondary markets role
- Strong understanding of venture capital, private equity, stock options, and the financial needs and risks faced by startup founders and early employees
- Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain a high-quality pipeline in a process-driven, organized manner
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with startup professionals and convey the value of Aption’s unique solutions
- A natural hunger for success, a strong work ethic, and an analytical mindset to continually refine outreach efforts
- Perseverance and a results-driven attitude, with a desire to overperform in a startup environment
